Wilfred "Willy" Benware, 93, passed away on May 7, 2023 at his home in Claremont, NH.

Born in Cornish, NH, he was the youngest son to the late Edward P. and Rose (Gregorie) Benware. Willy worked for Cone Blanchard Machine Company and retired in 1992 with 44 years of service. He loved to cut firewood and often said that would have been his dream job.

Willy's true love was the automobile. He loved buying them and trading them and it was a sport for him. He enjoyed playing cards and going to the MGM casino on occasion. He enjoyed playing the guitar with his friends and played at many of the local Home Days. He was gifted in his ability to "dowse" for water. He found many well sites for residents around the area. This was a gift he never took lightly, saying "I have never profited from this gift, for fear I would lose it." He also enjoyed fishing and took great pleasure in fishing with his sons and grandchildren. He loved to see the deer that his loved one took during hunting season.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Joyce (Murgatroy) Benware in 2013. They had been married for 62 years. Also, his parents, a sister, Rose Campbell; brothers, Joseph, Arthur and Alfred; sons, George E. Benware and Wilfred "Ben" Benware and grandchildren, Steven Benware and Brandon Melcher.

He is survived by his special partner, Janice Bushey of Claremont; his sons, Allan Benware and his wife Sue of Rural Retreat, VA, Daniel Benware and his wife, Anna of Claremont, Douglas Benware and Ernest Benware of Lehigh Acres, FL and Brian Benware and his wife, Mary of Claremont; a daughter, Vivian Melcher and her husband, Richard of Cocoa Beach, FL; daughter-in-law, Terry Benware of Brighton, IL. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

A graveside committal will be held in St Mary Cemetery in Claremont on Monday, May 15 ^th at 11AM.
